Camp Little Tooth

Pediatric Dentistry vs. General Dentistry

As a parent trying to choose whether to take your child to a pediatric dentist or a family dentist, you may want to know what the main difference is. This difference actually comes down to the extensive amount of advanced training our pediatric dentist, Dr. Raelene Fulford has completed in the dental care of children and their unique risks and needs.

It’s the same reason you wouldn’t take your small children to a general doctor. Pediatric doctors specialize in children’s medicine and they are trained to work with kids. Pediatric dentistry is the same! Dr. Rae is great with children and helping to make them feel comfortable at our Colorado pediatric dentist’s office.

Benefits Of Pediatric Dentistry

Any dentist hoping to specialize in pediatrics must go through two to three years of additional training after they graduate from dental school. This training will focus on the oral healthcare needs of children, from newborns all the way to teenagers. Each of these early stages of life will have different oral healthcare needs. Dr. Raelene Fulford and the rest of the staff here at Camp Little Tooth® Pediatric Dentistry are trained to meet these unique needs.

In addition to our extra training, we are committed to making each and every child feel comfortable and at home in our pediatric dental office. We want to help Colorado bring up a generation of kids who are unafraid of the dentist’s office and who know how to properly care for their dental health.

Dr. Rae and the rest of the staff can’t wait to meet your family and we look forward to watching your children grow and learn. Please make an appointment for your children to see why our little campers love us so much!
