Meet Our Pediatric Dentists!

Dr. Raelene Fulford

Owner and Camp Director

The Doc and BabiesDr. Raelene Fulford received her DDS degree in 2007 and her Masters in Pediatric Dentistry in 2010 from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. She is a recipient of the 2019 award for Most Loved Pediatric Dentist in Boulder County and has received the prestigious Award for Excelling in Pediatric Dentistry from the Southern California Society for Pediatric Dentistry. She was also honored to be a featured dentist in the Riverside “I Own It” campaign for her contribution to her local community. Dr. Rae is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Society, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Rae is a strong believer in supporting and investing in her local community and is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the WOW! Children’s Museum.

Originally from Florida, Dr. Rae is one of 4 children. From the young age of 8, Dr. Rae knew she wanted to be a kid’s dentist after spending time with her Dad in his dental practice. In her senior high-school yearbook she listed “Children’s Dentist” as her desired profession. She is thrilled to be living her dream and helping kids enjoy the dental experience rather than fear it. She fell in love with outdoor adventures when she and her three siblings were introduced to camping at a young age. Subsequent summers were spent hiking, backpacking, canoeing, sailing, camping, and visiting National Parks. Her passion for children’s dentistry and love of the outdoors is the inspiration for Camp Little Tooth®. Her desire is to inspire kids to not only understand and appreciate the importance of good oral health but to have an appreciation for an active lifestyle, love of nature, a healthy diet, and most importantly to have a spirit of adventure! She believes that the dental office does not have to be an intimidating sterile experience but one of warmth where laughter is the prescribed medicine. You might just see her making balloon art such as monkeys, flowers, and hats to delight your little one – balloon swords and princess wands are a top request!

Dr. Rae is excited to be a resident of the great state of Colorado and is enjoying all the outdoor adventures that it has to offer. Along with her husband Jeff, and Montana, their lovable Goldendoodle, they enjoy snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, camping, and backpacking. She also loves to sing and is passionate about musical theater and has performed in numerous musical productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, Oliver! and The Music Man.

Dr. Rae appreciates the trust you place in her to treat your child and is committed to making sure you and your family have a top-notch experience! Her goal is to ensure that your child will always be a happy camper at Camp Little Tooth®!

Dr. Anne Shaffer

Asst. Camp Director

Dr. Shaffer

“Dr. Anne Shaffer (“Dr. Annie”) received her D.M.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in 2017 and completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Geisinger Medical Center in 2019. She was nominated and accepted as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honor Society and received the AAPD Predoctoral Student Award in Pediatric Dentistry. During her residency, she completed an extensive amount of hospital dentistry involving treatment under general anesthesia in the operating room and dental trauma as a part of Janet Weiss Children’s Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is on her way to becoming an ABPD Diplomate.

Dr. Annie moved to Colorado seeking the ultimate outdoor adventure with her fiancé. Together, they enjoy rock climbing, fly fishing, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and any activity involving nature and the outdoors! Dr. Annie had very similar aspirations as Dr. Rae and knew that she wanted to be a Pediatric Dentist when she was very young. In second grade, she saw that her classmates were losing teeth and wanted a “tooth treasure chest” of her own, but did not lose any teeth while at school! After telling her family, her mother proceeded to buy her a “Play-Doh Drill ‘N Fill Dentist” playset and the rest was history.

Dr. Annie believes that every child, no matter age, background, or circumstances, should be treated with the compassion that he or she deserves. She will stop at nothing to make your child feel like a superhero or princess for the day by the end of his or her dental appointment!”
